A Worcester Superior Court judge has ordered the former owners of Riverside Mitsubishi in Auburn to pay $100,000 in restitution and $200,000 in penalties over illegal sales, according to Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office.
Darryl and Brenda Rivernider of Oxford had been banned from selling cars in Massachusetts by a 2005 consent judgment that found they sold cars under false promises about financial arrangements. The contempt proceeding alleged that they sold cars at least five times in August and September 2011. They also allegedly failed to pay $100,000 of a penalty included in the 2005 judgment.
