Career highlights: Starting with the city as a staff assistant, I held various project management positions prior to assuming the role of chief of staff for economic development. Currently, I supervise the project management team and work on development projects such as Gateway Park, CitySquare and the DCU Center renovation. Additionally, I have written successful grant applications totaling approximately $20 million for projects and programs.
Community involvement: I have volunteered to assist with various neighborhood cleanups. In the past, I coached girls’ basketball and hope to find the time to do it again – maybe when my daughters are older.
Ultimate career goal: To hold a higher level executive management position in government. I would also like to pursue a doctorate degree and teach at the college level.
Non-relative you admire most: I admire the great mentors I have had in nine years of working for the city. I also admire all the women who juggle careers and motherhood.
Favorite book: “Pride and Prejudice,” by Jane Austen
Hidden talents: I have some pretty mean basketball skills! I can also burp a baby like a champ and have a knack for killing plants.
