Body Therapeutics, Worcester
Lives: West Boylston
Birthplace: Worcester
Colleges: New England School of Acupuncture, Assumption College
Caron opened her business in the height of an the Great Recession in 2009, but Body Therapeutics weathered the storm and helped Central Mass. residents unwind from the stresses of the financial crisis. The company was successful from day one and has grown in revenue, profit and customers each year. Body Therapeutics has been nominated for Worcester Magazine's Best of Worcester in the Yoga/Holistic category every year since its opening -- including winning Best Holistic Care Center of Worcester in 2018 -- and some of Caron's staff has won Best of Worcester in their own disciplines. More than 10,000 people have enjoyed Caron's services, which range from acupuncture, massages and chiropractic work. The company is built on the foundation of holistic medicine. She launched her business immediately after graduating from the New England School of Acupuncture. It wasn't always acupuncture and holistic medicine for Caron, who began her professional career as a certified public accountant. However, her passion for holistic medicine drove her to make the career change, and she did so while raising a family, volunteering and completing two marathons and an Olympic triathlon. She served on the board at the nonprofit Zen Training Center, where she worked as a martial arts instructor and director of the children's martial arts program.
From 40 Under Forty judge Michael Arnum: “At the cutting edge of holistic health care, Jennifer's business acumen and community engagement are truly inspiring.”
What do you want people to say about you after it is all said and done? I was kind, adventurous, helped others and always worked to better myself.
What movie character would you be? Katniss Everdeen from “Hunger Games” because she's gutsy, puts her family first, is a fighter for the people and a badass!
