President
Quiet Logistics, Inc., Devens
Lives: Northborough
Birthplace: Worcester
College: Worcester State University
Lemerise has quickly gotten Quiet Logistics to where it could be called a mini-Amazon. No, the company isn't trying to seemingly take over the world by having its hand in what seems to be every industry. Quiet Logistics' 500,000-square-foot main warehouse in Devens ships more than 100 million items each year for retailers like Away, Bombfell and Bonobos, even doing quick next-morning delivery in some areas – before Amazon Prime was even around to do it. Much of the operations are computer controlled, as shelves placed on top of little robots move around the giant space to bring items directly to the person who will be packaging a box for shipping, a process five times faster than humans could do. Quiet Logistics has soared under Lemerise's leadership, having grown its capacity tenfold and shipping more than $1 billion worth of orders each year. The company has grown past 500 employees, a number more than doubling each holiday season. Lemerise has been active with Minute Man Arc, a Concord social service agency for children and adults with disabilities. Lemerise is the president of Minute Man Arc's board, and he's helped dozens of area residents with autism, Down syndrome or other physical and intellectual disabilities land jobs at Quiet Logistics and elsewhere.
From 40 Under Forty judge Milka Njoroge: “Brian is an inspiration and a role model from humble beginnings to success. Success means investing in the community to create opportunities for all irrespective of disabilities.”
