Thomas Kinisky, a 27-year veteran of Saint-Gobain, was named president and CEO of Saint-Gobain Corporation, the French manufacturer’s North American holding company.
In his new role, Kinisky oversees Saint-Gobain companies in the United States and Canada, including Saint-Gobain Abrasives in Worcester and the Northborough Research & Development Center. He has over 30 years of experience in research and development, according to a Monday press release from the company.
In the release, Kinisky said he will build on Saint-Gobain’s tradition of innovation by tapping into the potential of its workforce and recruiting talented employees. He has been with Saint-Gobain since 1990, when the company acquired his then-employer, Norton Company.
At Saint-Gobain, he worked in research and development for over a decade, including as vice president of technology and new business development for the abrasives division. Later, he was named president of Saint Gobain Crystals (in 2002), and Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (2008).
He is a graduate of Pace University, earned a master’s degree in materials science from New York University, and holds five U.S. patents.
