A Holliston retailer of hockey and lacrosse equipment nearly doubled its retail presence as it expands with the acquisition of a St. Louis retailer.
With the acquisition, MetroWest-based TSG Enterprises -- which operates under the Pure Hockey, Hockey Giant, Pure Goalie and Commonwealth Lacrosse brands -- will have 54 retail locations as well as seven ecommerce websites.
The acquisition of the Missiouri retailer Total Hockey gives TSG access to new markets in Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, Utah and Colorado, said TSG President David Nectow in a release announcing the acquisition.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
TSG was founded in 2002 by David Nectow and Sal Tiano through the purchase of one hockey retail store in Worcester. Prior to the St. Louis acquisition, the company had 22 stores under the Pure Hockey/ComLax brands in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as one ecommerce site and nine retail stores under the Hockey Giant brand in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, California and Wisconsin.
Total Hockey’s stores were primarily based in the Midwest with a strong presence in Missouri and surrounding states. TSG will maintain an office in St. Louis.
