After completing successful beta testing at large companies, a Grafton-based business that makes temperature and humidity monitors has launched its first product.
Purkay Laboratories Inc., founded in 2012 by former General Electric and iRobot Corp. executive Indra Purkayastha, is selling Audit-Buddy, a portable temperature and humidity monitor that displays the environmental conditions of data centers. The compact system provides data that can be used to identify problematic thermal trends. A patent on the technology is pending, according to Purkay.
The company said Audit-Buddy is an alternative to more expensive data center monitoring equipment, ideal for server and telecom closets. The price is listed at $1,449 on the Purkay website, www.purkaylabs.com.
Beta testing was completed at a large telecommunications company, a Boston-based financial services firm and a large cloud provider, Purkay said.
