Title: Financial Advisor

Company: Merrill Lynch

Company location: Westborough

Residence: Worcester

College: Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Career highlights: I am a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch. I studied biology at WPI because my mother wanted me to be a doctor. My junior year I realized wanted to work in financial services. I earned my degree in biology and pursued a career in finance. Today I help individuals, families and businesses manage their investments. My business partners and I manage approximately $160 million.

Community involvement: Currently I am most active with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Worcester. Big Brothers Big Sisters gives me an opportunity to be a friend and help mentor someone who otherwise may not have had positive male influence in their lives. I try to see my little brother every Sunday and during that time we find positive ways to have fun and enjoy each other’s company.

Biggest professional success: Merrill Lynch has an extremely difficult and competitive training program that is designed to take two years. The success rate of this program is rather low and the number of individuals that graduate early is even lower. My greatest success is not only completing the program but completing it in 18 months.

Dream job: I dream of working hard for another 20 years or so, then devoting my time to coaching high school football St. Bernard’s CCHS in Fitchburg.

Businessperson he admires most and why: Frank Novak Sr. is the businessperson I most admire. He is a financial advisor who grew his business from nothing to where it is today. He would tell me stories of how he would hitchhike to and from Lafayette to be with his family. He would also tell me about the long and arduous days and nights he spent building his business to provide for his family.

If you weren’t doing the job you’re doing now, what would you do? It’s hard for me to think of doing anything else. I really enjoy the people I work with and I love helping families achieve their goals and dreams.

Favorite movie: 300 has to be one of the greatest movies of all time.
